Pros and cons of Alfred Remote app for iPhone and iPad
Alfred Remote app good for
Id really love to have control over my macs keyboard and mouse using alfred. I wouldnt mind paying a few more bucks for that.
The app is incredible and gives complete control over your mac. The only key feature that its missing is a Notification Center widget with really quick shortcuts for a few favourite actions.
Hello,
thanks a lot guys for both Alfred 2 on Mac and for Alfred Remote. It works fantastic but indeed it would be nice to have also a keyboard on the remote. Great job. And by the way, Merry Xmas!
Simple, beautiful and functional. It is software like this that has keep me using Apple products. I like running with scissors, but I love Running with Crayons.
This app is amazing. I
Love it so much. I can tap a single icon on my iOS device and have it run any script I like. Wanna backup and then update every Wordpress install you have on your server??? BOOM this can do that. I am twitterpated. Head over heels here. In short, it is very good.
Some bad moments
First, I love Alfred on my Mac. I use it dozens of times per day, I have numerous workflows defined and couldnt live without it.
So I was curious what Alfred on my iPhone could do for me.
I didnt see any real use case. Sure, I can remotely control iTunes, I can lock my mac, I can launch an app, but why would I move my fingers from my keyboard to my phone, just to use Alfred Remote?
So, seeing this as an investment into the Alfred developers and hope that one day this will be a useful app. If my Mac could trigger actions on my iPhone, like Workflow does, maybe thatd be it.
Very difficult to pair, and after all very much useless iOS application.
I will ask for refund.
Works seamlessly with my Retina MacBook Pro! Handy features to maneuver items from your phone. Simple pairing process as well. I didnt expect it to work so well/fast but it really does. Worth few dollars especially as the OS X variant is free.
Remote is a great addition to the workflows I have already built in Alfred. I am also finding new ways to use Alfred like getting my most used apps and websites up and running before I even get out of bed :)
It is a unique app and a must have for Powerpack users.
Alfred for Mac became my most frequently used app the day I downloaded it because it took my love of shortcuts to a higher level. Now I have a new way to shortcut AND a way to put my iPad Mini to better use while at the desk.
Remote is a great way to use a second screen in an effective way. Remote is fully customizable (choosing and arranging the grid of shortcuts, adding/naming pages, colors/icons), and can be used to shortcut non-app processes. I have an Application page, a URL page, a Folder page, and can’t wait to get a workflow page going.
Well worth the wait. Go get more productive.
Great Job Guys! Setup was a breeze! Setup on local network & WAN.
